And then, after more than 40 hours of travel, we arrived safely and soundly back in Boston.

Day 286: February 10, 2010
When this picture was taken, we were supposed to be back in Massachusetts, regaling our families with tales of our trip. But, because of a massive overreaction to a pending storm in Boston, our flight was canceled and we were stuck overnight in Chicago. While wandering the halls that connect the hotel in which we stayed to the nearby conference center, we happened upon the Chicago RV show. Kim charmed the guy working security at the back door, and we went window shopping for campers, trying hard not to let our jet-lagged, sleep-deprived giggles give us away as impostors.
Day 285: February 9, 2010
On our last full day, we visited the fishing village of Tai O on Lantau Island, perhaps my favorite stop of the trip.
Day 284: February 8, 2010
After a weekend spent largely indoors due to unrelenting rain, on Monday, we went to Stanley, a seaside town on the south of Hong Kong island.
Day 283: February 5, 2010
And then we took a helicopter to Macau (thanks again Billy!) and watched the city of Hong Kong recede behind us.
Day 282: February 4, 2010
This was market day, on which we went to the flea market, the flower market, the bird garden (and market), the jade market and this, the Ladies’ Market, a mind-bogglingly crowded array of booths selling clothes and shoes and watches and bags and all manner of tchotchkes.
Day 281: February 3, 2010
Hong Kong (and Macau) were festooned with decorations in anticipation of Chinese New Year, which began shortly after we left.
Day 280: February 2, 2010
Then, exactly two months after going to Ireland, I went to Hong Kong with Kim and BB. Here, Amy and BB enjoy a nice round of Rock Band on out first night in Asia. More comprehensive photographic coverage of the trip here.
Day 279: December 6, 2009
On our last night in Ireland, we had dinner with an old family friend and then wandered around Dublin, getting pleasantly lost and then found again.
What’s that you say? You wish there were more photos of this awesome trip available for your viewing pleasure? Wish granted.
Day 278: December 5, 2009
Pat didn’t play any golf while we were in Ireland, but we did stop at this golf club in County Clare, where he got out of the car and walked about on the course a little.
