Jesus may save, but he does diddly-squat about easing the traffic jams leading up to the Sagamore Bridge due to the recent construction work.

This sign, I think, is self-explanatory. But what is missing is context. This classy new workout center is located on the touristy Main St. of Hyannis. Underneath a toy store. For real.

The second day of work on the Sagamore Bridge was the first night I had to drive on and off-Cape. I arrived home nearly two hours after I left the office. That night this sign should perhaps have been labelled “Speed Fantasy.”

So it looks like the stenciled phrase “Not Art” was not just a one-off Hyannis phenomenon; I got this shot in Cambridge. And there are more out there. But Googling yields no explanation…

The second choice picture for this day is a tasteful little still life of a sign leaning against a shed at an organic farm in Barnstable. But this made me laugh.

The farmers market in Carver is half market-half charming fair. There are a few vegetable vendors, interspersed among the truck selling sausage sandwiches, the little tractor-pulled train for the kids and, of course, the pony rides.

So many choices. I think I’ll pick, “Yes.”
