Rachel: how was dinner?
me: Good. Seafoody. There was a fried clam that looked like a chicken.
Don’t worry, I got a picture.

Seriously, there is nothing I could say to make this picture any better.
Day 228: August 20, 2009
In Plymouth, there is a group known as the Twelve Tribes. I will leave it to your own Google research to determine if they are best described as a religious group, a community or a cult. But in the towns in which Twelve Tribes groups locate, they generally make a point of running high-quality small businesses. Here, they own a natural food store, a carpentry business and, pictured here, the Blue Blinds Bakery, a 24-hour cafe and pie shop.
The artwork, I believe, is restored from the original decoration of the Colonial home in which the bakery is located.

Day 191: July 14, 2009
At work until nearly 8, reporting and writing a story about a Canadian mini-Madoff with Cape Cod ties. Waiting for sandwiches at Panera (plans to cook clearly derailed) and remembered the need to take a photo. Oooh, pretty lampshade…

Day 153: June 6, 2009
I am in San Francisco, where the hippies and hipsters are plentiful, the Mexican food is tasty, and the bars have an orange glow.

Day 152: June 5, 2009
This is my sister Rachel, imitating how her cat Larue does not, as cats are generally understood to do, land on her feet.

What good is living one minute from the ocean, if you don’t occasionally enjoy a vibrant blue cocktail on the deck at a waterfront bar? And what good is a blue cocktail without a neon-colored straw through which to sip it?
